Abstract
In the article special attention is paid to the communication tolerance being an important professional personality trait of a future dentist. The essence of this notion, different aspects of its manifestation in the doctor’s professional activity have been found out. We have arrived at the conclusion that it is necessary to use complex of measures with a view to develop communication competence in students of higher medical educational establishments. Our experience shows that interactive methods used in education are the most efficient in the development of health care practitioners’ communication tolerance. While working with students we use such interactive methods as paired and group work. These methods can be used to diagnose skills and abilities having already been possessed by the students, for knew skills acquirement and knowledge checks, and development of the professional communication skills and abilities. Paired and group work enables the students to develop critical facility, express thoughts and prove their rectitude, exchange ideas, analyze problems, find together the answer to the lecturer’s question, analyze and discuss group-mates’ answers, adequately evaluate them, use and acquire communication standards rules.
