Abstract

General periodontal disease is one of the most common dental diseases, in the development and progression of which many factors play a role. According to e pathogenesis of general periodontal disease, a significant role in the development of this disease belongs to microbiocenosis of the oral cavity, the state of the immune system. Antimicrobial peptides play a significant role in homeostasis of the oral cavity and have an indirect effect on increasing the production of IgA, IgG, prevent the formation of microbial film on the tooth surface. It should also be mentioned that an important aspect in the progression of general
periodontal disease plays the presence of concomitant somatic pathologies. The study of comorbidity of the oral cavity diseases and other human systems is a topical issue today. Nowadays, great attention of clinicians and scientists is focused on gluten-related diseases, which include: celiac disease, gluten intolerance without celiac disease etc. Often patients with these gluten-related diseases have various manifestations in the oral cavity.
